Synopsis
Do you know who your enemy is?

Officially, coolly efficient operative Neil Shaw doesn't exist. Try telling that to anyone standing in Shaw's way. Wesley Snipes plays Shaw, one of an elite team of United Nations agents, in this stylish thriller directed by Christian Duguay (Joan of Arc) and co-starring Anne Archer, Michael Biehn and Donald Sutherland.

High-tech gadgetry. High-powered armaments. They're all weapons of choice as Shaw unravels a scheme to destroy a historic summit with China. Other weapons come into play: manipulation, cunning, control -- all tactics from the Sun Tsu handbook about victory without combat. The Art of War draws more than its title from that ancient work. It plunges us into a world that puts those tactics into bitter, suspenseful action.

Barely Bond! - 4 out of 5  (12/26/2000)
"The name is Shaw, Neil Shaw."

Okay, I'm kidding about the quote but I am not kidding about the fact that the only thing "The Art Of War" is missing is James Bond. That isn't a negative comment at all; in fact, it's quite the opposite.

"The Art Of War" is a highly superior thriller with plenty of action sequences and a thrilling cold war plot.

Not bad... Not great either - 3.75 out of 5  (4/13/2001)
It's a pretty descent movie, but nothing that is going to blow you away. The action sequences range from standard to slightly inspired. The plot isn't too bad, but the plot twists they try and throw in are WAY too predictable. I wouldn't have recommended this film if someone was going to the theater to see it, but you at least owe it a shot in the DVD player. The cast is well put together and the direction is pretty good. Also, this movie looks great on DVD! Sharp picture and crisp audio.   more >>

Greatttt....... - 4.75 out of 5  (3/2/2001)
The film will keep you guessing what will happen next or who is gonna get killed now. Wesley Snipes is outstanding and action scenes are awe-inspiring. Sound is good in theater system and loud so you can hear great sounds from every speaker.Just the dissapointment for me,was the features.. It is a must buy for action-thriller fans...I watched it twice and I am gonna go again. Must buy.....   more >>

Slick Stuff! - 4.25 out of 5  (2/25/2001)
Neil Shaw may be the new James Bond. A slick thriller with many plot twists to keep you going. The action is relentless with many "What's he going to do now" type scenes. Great film.   more >>
